Much of my experience has been in leading and growing businesses, with a specific focus on the talent that drives successful growth. The businesses I have led as President or CEO include HR consulting (Mercer), learning and training (Intrepid Learning Solutions), and behavior-based leadership (CLG, now Havior). I have also worked closely with venture capital investors and leadership teams, helping companies grow, navigate change, and prepare for successful exits.
But the part of my career I have found most rewarding is helping people. I have mentored leaders at different stages of their careers and advised executives taking on new roles and challenges. I enjoy listening, sharing what I have learned from my own experiences, and helping people think through the decisions in front of them.
Giving back has also been an important part of my life. I currently serve on the board of Landesa, a global NGO advancing land rights for vulnerable communities, and on the board of Antara International, which works to improve pre- and postnatal healthcare for women. I am also an advisor to PlanetRead, whose Same Language Subtitling initiative helps strengthen reading skills among weak readers across India. I previously served on the Board of Trustees of Gettysburg College and the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
Outside of work, I treasure time with my family and love to travel. A recent highlight was a trip to Wimbledon with my grandchildren, where we watched some great tennis. I also enjoy theater and opera, and I return each year to Six Senses Vana for a wellness retreat. I love discovering new places. My wife, Kiran, and I live in New York City, very close to our children and grandchildren.
After more than five decades working, I am still learning. I am also still excited by meeting new people, hearing their ideas, and helping them find their own path forward.
